What does the spiritism say?
Several spiritualists affirm that the text of I Samuel 28 is a genuine mediunistic session , where King Saul consults the dead prophet Samuel through the spiritual medium of Endor.
What does the Christianism say?
Saul's situation:
In the verse 6, Saul looks for the orientation of God, because the Philistines were about to invade Israel. However, God didn't answer Saul because he had deviated from His way and consequently lost His grace (I Samuel 15:19 and 23).
What should be Saul's attitude:
In this case, the Bible guides us how to act. Repent (Acts 8:22), ask for forgivness (I John 1:9) and to wait patiently the blessing of God (Psalms 40:1) .
What was Saul 's attitude:
Saul not receiving the answer of
God, looked for an alternative for his affliction. His attitude was looking for a spiritual medium to
get advice with the dead prophet Samuel.
We will show that the own Bible affirms this mediunistic event was a fake.
The spiritual medium affirms she is seeing a spirit arising of the earth |

James 1:17, Genesis 17:22, John 6:41, Acts 10:44, Acts 11:15, Ephesians 4:9-10 |

|
It was a subjective conclusion of Saul, and not a statement of the Bible that was really Samuel |
|
Saul wasn't seeing " Samuel " when he got to this conclusion, because he asked to the spiritual medium to describe the spirit that was arising of the earth |

Every prophecy should be proved. If it happens, it comes from God, otherwise, doesn't come from God. |
Analyzing the prophecies |
||
The prophecies |
Did the prophecies come true ? |
|
Saul would be killed by the Philistines. |
Saul committed suicide. |
|
All the children of Saul would also die. |
Only three died. Others stayed alive, one of them even became king of Israel. |
|
Saul died after several days. |
Comments:
For all this, Saul died away from God, because of his transgression against God, and also for having seeked for a spiritual medium to consult (I Chronicles 10:13).
God absolutely prohibits the consultation of the dead (Deuteronomy 18:9-15, Isaiah 8:19-20, Leviticus 20:6).
That ordinance
from the time of the Old Testament is still worth until today, because God
doesn't change His opinion (James 1:17, Malachi 3:6, Psalms 102:27, Numbers 23:19).
